Terms of Service

GuruExplorer Pte. Ltd. — Updated 27 June 2026

These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) govern your access to and use of the GuruExplorer platform, including our website, services, tools, and features (collectively, the “Platform”). The Platform is owned and operated by GuruExplorer Private Limited (“GuruExplorer”, “we”, “us”, or “our”).

By accessing, registering for, or using the Platform, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not access or use the Platform.

In these Terms, “you” and “User” mean any person who accesses or uses the Platform. “Customer” means a student and/or parent or legal guardian using the Platform to find education services. “Ad Lister” means a tutor and/or training provider using the Platform to advertise, list, or offer services, including but not limited to tutoring, academic programmes, training courses, sports coaching, enrichment classes, or other related services.

1. Acceptance of Terms

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and GuruExplorer in relation to your access to and use of the Platform.

2. Personal and Non-Commercial Use

The Platform is provided for your personal and non-commercial use only. You may not modify, copy, distribute, transmit, display, perform, reproduce, publish, license, create derivative works from, transfer, or sell any information, profiles, listings, or other content obtained from the Platform. This restriction applies to all content accessible through the Platform, including Ad Lister profiles, tutor listings, reviews, and contact details. Any commercial exploitation of Platform content, including scraping, aggregation, or redistribution for commercial purposes, is strictly prohibited.

6.3 GuruExplorer may review, approve, reject, edit (for clarity or removal of prohibited content), or remove reviews.

6.4 Moderation decisions are made using consistent standards and are not influenced by:

7. Privacy and Data Protection

The collection, use, disclosure and retention of personal data by GuruExplorer is governed by our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms. By using the Platform, you agree to the Privacy Policy. A copy is available at guruexplorer.co/privacy-policy.

8. Overseas Transfer of Personal Data

Some of the third-party services we use to operate the Platform process personal data outside Singapore. These include Meta Platforms, Inc. (WhatsApp Business Platform) and Amazon Web Services, Inc. (cloud hosting). By using the Platform, you consent to your personal data being transferred to and processed in countries outside Singapore. We take reasonable steps to ensure such transfers are made in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Act 2012 and that your data receives an adequate level of protection.

9. Marketing Communications and Consent

9.1 Transactional Communications. By registering for the Platform, you agree to receive transactional communications necessary for the operation of the Platform, including booking notifications, booking acceptance confirmations, subscription reminders, payment receipts, account security alerts, and service updates. These communications may be sent via email, SMS, WhatsApp, or in-platform notifications and do not require separate consent.

9.2 Marketing Communications. GuruExplorer may send promotional communications, including newsletters, platform updates, educational content, exam-season tips, success stories, special offers, and tutor-matching opportunities. Marketing communications may be sent via email, WhatsApp, SMS, or other electronic channels.

9.3 Marketing Consent. We send marketing communications only with your prior consent, given by ticking an opt-in checkbox, subscribing via a form, or replying with an affirmative keyword (e.g., “YES”). Consent is not required to use the Platform except for age requirements.

9.4 Channel-Specific Consent. Email and WhatsApp consents are separate — opting in to one does not opt you in to the other.

9.5 Withdrawing Consent. You can withdraw consent at any time, free of charge, by clicking “unsubscribe” in any marketing email, replying “STOP” to a marketing WhatsApp or SMS message, updating your account settings, or emailing support.guru@guruexplorer.co . Changes take effect within 10 business days. Transactional communications (clause 9.1) will continue.

9.6 Singapore PDPA Compliance. GuruExplorer complies with the Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (PDPA) and the Do Not Call (DNC) Provisions. Where required, we will check Singapore telephone numbers against the DNC Registry before sending marketing messages, unless valid clear and unambiguous consent in writing or other recorded form has been obtained.

9.7 Record of Consent. GuruExplorer maintains records of marketing consent including date, channel, and method of opt-in. These records may be requested by you under your PDPA right of access.

9.8 WhatsApp Communications (Meta). Where you choose to interact with us via WhatsApp, messages are delivered using Meta’s WhatsApp Business Platform. Your mobile number and the content of your messages are processed by Meta to deliver this service and may be processed on servers outside Singapore. WhatsApp marketing is sent only with your separate consent, which you may withdraw at any time by replying STOP. Your use of WhatsApp is also subject to Meta’s and WhatsApp’s own terms and privacy policies.

10. Data Retention

Data retention periods and practices are set out in full in our Privacy Policy. By using the Platform, you agree to the retention practices described therein.

10a. Hosting and Content Storage The Platform and the content you upload (including profiles, photographs and editorial contributions) are hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS). We configure storage to use the Singapore region where reasonably practicable. You are responsible for ensuring that content you upload does not infringe any third party’s rights and that you have the necessary consents for any personal data it contains.

Enforcement GuruExplorer may investigate suspected breaches of these Terms and may issue warnings, suspend or terminate accounts, restrict access to the Platform, and/or remove or disable access to content, at our discretion.

13. Platform Nature and Disclaimer

13.1 GuruExplorer is not:

GuruExplorer does not guarantee the accuracy, integrity, or quality of any user-generated content on the Platform, including but not limited to Ad Lister profiles, biographies, subject listings, declared qualifications, and messages. All such content is provided by Users and GuruExplorer makes no representations as to its completeness or reliability. Users are responsible for conducting their own due diligence before engaging with any other User.

Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms or the Platform (a “Dispute”) shall first be referred to the parties’ authorised representatives for good faith negotiations. If the Dispute is not resolved within a reasonable time, the parties may agree to submit the Dispute to mediation, and failing settlement, to arbitration in Singapore.

This platform facilitates the introduction of Customers and Service Providers and generates service enquiries and leads. All services arising from such leads including but not limited to payments, scheduling, conduct, and disputes are managed directly between Customer and Service Provider offline. Platform tools support discovery, credential verification, and reviews only.

13.2 Physical Activity — Assumption of Risk. Where Ad Lister services involve physical activity, including but not limited to sports coaching, fitness training, dance, martial arts, or other enrichment activities of a physical nature, Customers acknowledge that such activities carry inherent risks of physical injury or harm. GuruExplorer is not liable for any injury, accident, illness, or health-related incident arising from any session, class, or activity arranged through the Platform. Customers and their guardians are responsible for assessing their own physical fitness and suitability for any activity before engaging with an Ad Lister.

13.3 Venue Disclaimer. GuruExplorer has no involvement in, control over, or responsibility for the condition, safety, or suitability of any venue, facility, or location used for sessions arranged through the Platform. All venue-related matters, including access, insurance, equipment, and compliance with applicable safety regulations, are the sole responsibility of the relevant Ad Lister and Customer.

14. Subscription Tiers and Lapse Behaviour

14.1 The Platform offers three subscription tiers for Ad Listers: Seeker (free), Explorer Pro, and Maverick. Each tier determines the number of booking requests (leads) an Ad Lister may accept within a given year, as well as eligibility for any add-on features or services that GuruExplorer may make available from time to time. Additional tiers could be added over time.

14.2 Tier booking caps are as follows: Seeker tier permits up to 4 accepted bookings per year; Explorer Pro tier permits up to 12 accepted bookings per year; Maverick tier permits unlimited accepted bookings. One booking equals one student for one year of platform-recognised engagement, but it’s up to the flexibility of student, tutor arrangements.

14.3 Where an Ad Lister upgrades between tiers, existing accepted booking counts carry over into the new tier cap. Upon upgrade from Seeker to Explorer Pro, unused Seeker slots are applied against the Explorer Pro cap of 12. Upon upgrade from Explorer Pro to Maverick, the booking cap is removed entirely for the duration of the active Maverick subscription.

14.4 Where a paid subscription lapses due to non-renewal, the Ad Lister will no longer be able to accept new booking requests. Existing confirmed bookings and offline tuition arrangements are not affected by a subscription lapse. A lapsed Explorer Pro or Maverick Ad Lister will be ranked within the Seeker pool for search visibility purposes until the subscription is renewed.

14.5 Booking caps reset annually on 1 January each year, subject to any active subscription period that extends into January. Where a paid subscription was active in December and expires on 31 January without renewal, the reset occurs upon expiry. Seeker tier caps reset to 0/4 on 1 January regardless of subscription status.

14.6 No Guarantee of Bookings or Leads. GuruExplorer provides tutors with visibility, discoverability, and access to student demand data to support their ability to find students. Subscription tiers define the maximum scope of access available (including but not limited to booking caps, subject limits, and coverage areas) and do not constitute a guarantee of any minimum number of bookings, leads, or student engagements. Actual results depend on factors outside GuruExplorer's control, including subject demand, regional competition, tutor profile quality, pricing, and parent or student preferences. GuruExplorer makes no representation or warranty, express or implied, regarding the volume of bookings or leads a tutor will receive under any subscription tier.

15. Ad Lister Profile Requirements

15.1 An Ad Lister's profile will become visible and bookable on the Platform once the Ad Lister has completed the tutor or trainer profile template and finalised registration. Completion of the template requires all of the following mandatory fields to be filled in: full name; a clear photograph clearly showing the Ad Lister's face (logos, cartoons, group shots, and heavily filtered images are not permitted); at least one subject or activity offered; a biography of no fewer than 100 characters; an hourly rate; a calendar with availability set; and details of the education levels or age groups offered.

Ad Listers offering sports coaching or physical enrichment activities may additionally upload supplementary photos showcasing their coaching activities and facilities. All supplementary photos must comply with the following: the Ad Lister must be identifiable in at least the primary profile photo; photos must not depict students or participants in swimwear or aquatic settings; and no photo may feature the face of any minor student or participant without the verified written consent of that minor's parent or legal guardian. GuruExplorer reserves the right to remove any photo that does not comply with these requirements.

Profiles that have not satisfied all preset registration conditions will not be able to complete registration.

15.2 Ad Listers on paid tiers (Explorer Pro and Maverick) are additionally required to provide self- declared certifications (name and type only; no document uploads are required or accepted by the Platform). Paid Ad Listers may optionally display a "Verify-My-Cert" badge and will be issued a QR code for in-person verification purposes.

For Ad Listers offering tuition services, relevant certifications include but are not limited to: teaching qualifications (e.g. NIE-trained, PGDE); university degrees in the subject taught; and professional or industry certifications relevant to the subject offered.

For Ad Listers offering sports coaching or physical enrichment activities, relevant certifications include but are not limited to: sport-specific coaching licences (e.g. Swimming Teachers' Association, Badminton Association of Malaysia/Singapore); Safe Sport accreditation; first aid or CPR certifications; and national or international coaching awards issued by recognised governing bodies.

15.3 All certifications listed on an Ad Lister’s profile are self-declared. The Platform does not independently verify the authenticity of any declared certification. Ad Listers represent and warrant that all declared certifications are accurate and genuine. Customers are responsible for conducting their own due diligence in relation to any Ad Lister’s stated qualifications.

15.3A Sports and Physical Activity Coaching — Credentials and Safety Accreditations. Where an Ad Lister offers sports coaching, fitness instruction, or other physical activity classes, GuruExplorer does not verify whether the Ad Lister holds any sport-specific accreditations, Safe Sport certifications, first aid qualifications, or other relevant safety credentials. Ad Listers offering such services represent and warrant that they hold all credentials, licences, and accreditations required by applicable law or relevant governing bodies. Customers are responsible for independently verifying any such credentials before engaging an Ad Lister for physical activity services, particularly where the Customer is a minor.

15.4 Ad Listers are responsible for maintaining an up-to-date calendar. Profiles with stale calendars (no updates or no availability set) will receive reduced visibility in search results. Where an Ad Lister has available booking capacity but no calendar availability set, the profile will be treated as fully booked for search ranking purposes. The platform reserves the right to set the criteria for what constitutes a stale calendar, and to adjust these criteria at its discretion.

15.5 Home Group Tuition — MOE Guidelines and Platform Class Size Policy. Ad Listers offering group tuition sessions conducted at a private residential premises must adhere to all applicable Ministry of Education (MOE) guidelines governing home-based group tuition, as updated from time to time. Regardless of applicable regulatory limits, GuruExplorer imposes a maximum class size of 4 students per group session for all tuition classes created on the Platform. This limit reflects the Platform’s commitment to maintaining focused, quality learning environments. Ad Listers acknowledge and accept this class size cap upon creating any group class listing. GuruExplorer is not responsible for ensuring Ad Listers’ compliance with MOE guidelines and makes no representation that adherence to the Platform’s class size cap constitutes full compliance with all applicable regulations. Ad Listers are solely responsible for ensuring their home-based tuition activities comply with all relevant laws and guidelines.

16. Booking Flow and Slot Policy

16.1 Customers may browse Ad Lister profiles, filter by subject and availability, and submit booking requests. The Platform will validate the Ad Lister’s tier and cap status upon each booking request. Where an Ad Lister has reached their tier cap or their subscription has lapsed, the profile will display as “Fully Booked” or such other descriptive status as the Platform may display from time to time, and no new booking requests may be submitted.

16.2 Once a booking request is submitted, the Ad Lister has 2 days to accept. Booking requests that receive no response within 2 days will automatically expire. The Customer will be notified upon expiry and may submit a booking request to another Ad Lister. An Ad Lister’s acceptance rate and response time metrics will be affected by unanswered requests.

16.3 Once an Ad Lister accepts a booking, the booking slot is permanently used for that calendar year, except where the booking relates to a course or fixed-duration programme, in which case the slot is consumed for the entire duration specified at the time of course creation. Slots are not recoverable in any circumstances, including where a student fails to attend, ceases to pay fees, withdraws mid-course, or otherwise disengages from arrangements. Ad Listers acknowledge and accept this condition upon registration.

16.4 Upon booking acceptance, the relevant Customer's contact details will be revealed to the Ad Lister and the Ad Lister's contact details will be revealed to the Customer. All subsequent arrangements, scheduling, fee collection, and related matters are conducted directly between the Ad Lister and the Customer entirely outside the Platform.

17. Search Visibility

17.1 Search result visibility on the Platform is allocated across subscription tiers on a proportional basis. Higher subscription tiers are allocated a greater share of search result slots than lower or free tiers. The actual allocation proportions are determined and adjusted by GuruExplorer from time to time at its sole discretion. GuruExplorer makes no representation or warranty as to the exact proportion of search result slots allocated to any tier at any given time, and shall not be liable for any discrepancy between indicative allocations and actual search result distribution.

17.2 Within each tier pool, ranking is determined by factors including: availability (Ad Listers with more open booking capacity rank higher within their pool); Availability; Acceptance Rate; Response Time; Review Score; possession of a “Verify-My-Cert” badge (paid tiers only); number of Parent-Verified Qualifications (paid tiers only); and recency of last platform activity. Ad Listers at their booking cap will appear at the bottom of their tier pool but will remain visible.

17.3 GuruExplorer does not guarantee any particular level of search visibility, ranking position, or volume of booking requests for any Ad Lister at any tier. Search visibility is subject to platform activity levels, competition within each tier, and the factors set out in clause 17.2 above.

18. Subscriptions and Payments (Ad Listers)

18.1 Accepted Payment Methods. Subscription fees may be paid by credit card, debit card, or such other payment methods as GuruExplorer makes available on the Platform from time to time. GuruExplorer reserves the right to add, remove, or modify accepted payment methods at its discretion.

18.2 Third-Party Payment Processing. All payment transactions on the Platform are processed by third-party payment service providers. GuruExplorer does not directly collect, store, or have access to your full card number, CVV, or other sensitive payment credentials. By submitting a payment, you agree to the relevant payment provider’s terms and conditions. GuruExplorer is not responsible for any errors, failures, or security incidents arising from the payment provider’s systems.

18.3 Billing Accuracy. You are responsible for ensuring that all payment details you provide are accurate, current, and complete. GuruExplorer is not liable for any failed transactions, loss of platform access, or other consequences arising from inaccurate or expired payment information.

18.4 Failed Payments. Where a payment attempt is unsuccessful, your subscription will not be activated or renewed for the relevant period. GuruExplorer will notify you of the failed payment and you may re-attempt payment through the Platform. Repeated or unresolved failed payments may be referred to our support team at support.guru@guruexplorer.co . GuruExplorer is not liable for any loss of access or opportunity arising from a failed payment.

18.5 No Refunds. All subscription fees paid to GuruExplorer are non-refundable once charged, except where required by applicable law. This applies regardless of whether you have used the Platform during the subscription period, whether your account is terminated, or whether you have accepted any bookings during that period. Subscription fees cover access to lead generation features only and are not contingent on the volume of bookings received.

18.5a Subscription Continuity During Manual Status Changes. Subscription fees continue to accrue and remain payable regardless of any manual status set by the Ad Lister on their account, including but not limited to Holiday Mode, Unavailable status, or any other voluntary pause of profile visibility. Setting a manual status does not constitute a cancellation or suspension of the subscription and does not entitle the Ad Lister to any refund, credit, or fee reduction for the period during which the manual status is active. Ad Listers who wish to cease subscription charges must allow their subscription to lapse by not renewing at the end of the current subscription period.

18.6 Chargebacks and Disputes. If you believe a charge has been made in error, you must contact GuruExplorer at support.guru@guruexplorer.co within 14 days of the transaction date before initiating any chargeback or dispute with your card issuer or bank. GuruExplorer reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts where a chargeback is initiated without prior contact, or where a chargeback is found to be unwarranted.

18.7 Taxes. Subscription fees displayed on the Platform are exclusive of any applicable taxes, including Goods and Services Tax (GST) or other taxes as may be applicable under Singapore law or the laws of your jurisdiction. Any applicable taxes will be calculated and added to your total at the time of checkout. You are responsible for any taxes applicable to your subscription purchase.

18.8 Unauthorised Transactions. You must notify GuruExplorer immediately if you become aware of any unauthorised charge to your payment method in connection with the Platform. GuruExplorer will investigate and liaise with the relevant payment provider where appropriate. You remain responsible for all charges made through your account unless you can demonstrate that the charge resulted from GuruExplorer’s own error or negligence.

18.9 Refund Eligibility. Notwithstanding clause 18.5, GuruExplorer may, at its sole discretion, consider a refund request in the following limited circumstances only:

All refund requests must be submitted to support.guru@guruexplorer.co within 14 days of the relevant charge or event. Requests submitted outside this window will not be considered. GuruExplorer will review each request on a case-by-case basis and its decision shall be final. Where a refund is approved, it will be processed to the original payment method within 5 to 10 business days, subject to the payment provider’s processing timelines. Approval of a refund in one instance does not create any obligation to approve future requests.

19. Account Termination

Users may close their accounts at any time in accordance with any instructions on the Platform.

20. Intellectual Property Rights

20.1 All intellectual property rights in and to the GuruExplorer Platform, including but not limited to the website, software, design, layout, logos, trademarks, text, graphics, and platform functionality (“Platform Content”), are owned by or licensed to GuruExplorer and are protected under applicable intellectual property laws.

User Content Users retain ownership of any content they submit, upload, post, or display on the Platform, including profiles, descriptions, messages, reviews, images, and other materials (“User Content”).

By submitting User Content to the Platform, you grant GuruExplorer a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty- free, sublicensable license to use, host, store, display, reproduce, modify (for formatting or platform functionality only), and distribute such User Content solely for the purposes of:

GuruExplorer reserves the right to remove any User Content that is alleged or found to infringe intellectual property rights.

20.2 Advertiser-Submitted Images and Visual Content

21. Editorial Contributions

This Section 21 applies to any article, guide, blog post, opinion piece, interview, story, or other written or visual editorial work (an “Editorial Contribution”) that you submit, contribute, or otherwise provide to GuruExplorer for publication on the Platform or in GuruExplorer’s communications. By submitting an Editorial Contribution, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by this Section 21, in addition to the other Terms. Section 21 supplements Section 20 (Intellectual Property Rights) and prevails to the extent of any inconsistency in respect of Editorial Contributions.

21.1 Ownership, Originality, and No Plagiarism. You retain ownership of the copyright in your Editorial Contribution. You represent and warrant that: (a) the Editorial Contribution is your own original work, written by you specifically for GuruExplorer, and has not been published elsewhere prior to submission; (b) you have not copied, plagiarised, or substantially paraphrased content from any third- party source — including but not limited to websites, books, articles, social media posts, other writers’ work, or content generated by artificial intelligence tools — whether in whole or in part, without proper attribution; (c) all quotations, statistics, data, and references to external sources are accurate and clearly attributed; (d) the Editorial Contribution does not infringe the intellectual property rights, privacy rights, moral rights, or any other rights of any third party; (e) you have all necessary rights, licences, and permissions to submit the Editorial Contribution; (f) any facts, claims, or statements made are accurate to the best of your knowledge and based on genuine experience or research; and (g) any persons identified in the Editorial Contribution (including students, parents, or other tutors) have consented to being named, or have been appropriately anonymised. You agree to indemnify GuruExplorer against any claim, loss, or damage arising from a breach of these representations. GuruExplorer reserves the right to use plagiarism detection tools on submitted Editorial Contributions and to reject or remove any content found to breach this clause, including after publication.

21.2 Licence to GuruExplorer. By submitting an Editorial Contribution, you grant GuruExplorer a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free, transferable, and sublicensable licence to host, store, reproduce, publish, display, distribute, edit (for clarity, length, accuracy, brand voice, search optimisation, or compliance with these Terms), translate, adapt, create derivative works from, archive, and otherwise use the Editorial Contribution in any form or medium now known or later developed, in connection with the Platform and GuruExplorer’s business, including but not limited to: (a) publication on the Platform under any URL structure GuruExplorer determines; (b) inclusion in newsletters, email digests, social media posts, search engine snippets, and promotional materials; (c) use in excerpts, summaries, or repurposed formats (including audio or video adaptations); and (d) syndication, licensing, or republication on third-party channels operated or partnered with GuruExplorer. This licence survives termination of your account and removal of any other User Content you have submitted.

21.3 Author Attribution and Use of Name, Photograph, and Credentials. By submitting an Editorial Contribution, you expressly consent to GuruExplorer publishing your name (or such pen name or display name as you and GuruExplorer agree in writing), photograph, professional credentials, biography, and a link to your Ad Lister profile (where applicable), in connection with the Editorial Contribution. This attribution may appear as a byline, author profile, social media credit, search result author markup (including schema.org structured data), or in any other format GuruExplorer reasonably uses to identify the author of editorial content. You agree that this use does not entitle you to any payment beyond any honorarium or fee separately agreed in writing.

21.4 Anonymity and Pen Names. Where you wish to publish under a pen name, with limited attribution (e.g., first name and role only), or anonymously (e.g., in sensitive parent stories), you must notify GuruExplorer in writing at the time of submission. GuruExplorer will use reasonable efforts to honour such requests but reserves the right to decline to publish any Editorial Contribution that cannot be appropriately attributed for editorial integrity, regulatory, or platform-trust reasons.

21.5 Editorial Discretion. GuruExplorer retains full editorial discretion over Editorial Contributions, including whether, when, where, and in what form to publish (or republish) them, and whether to update, refresh, depublish, or remove them. GuruExplorer may make reasonable edits to Editorial Contributions to ensure clarity, accuracy, search optimisation, factual integrity, brand voice, and compliance with these Terms or applicable law. Substantive edits that materially change your intended meaning will, where reasonably practicable, be discussed with you before publication.

21.6 No Conflict of Interest. Editorial Contributions must serve the reader and must not be used as covert advertising for the author’s own services, products, or third parties. You must disclose any material affiliation, financial interest, or commercial relationship relevant to the subject matter of the Editorial Contribution. GuruExplorer reserves the right to add appropriate disclosures, decline to publish, or remove Editorial Contributions that fail to meet these standards.

21.7 Republication by Author. Because you retain copyright in your Editorial Contribution, you may republish it on your own personal platforms (personal website, LinkedIn, personal blog) subject to the following conditions: (a) any republished version must include a clear attribution and link back to the original Platform URL using rel="canonical" or equivalent wording such as "Originally published on GuruExplorer"; (b) you must not republish the Editorial Contribution on any other website, platform, publication, or digital channel without GuruExplorer's prior written consent, regardless of whether such platform is a competitor of GuruExplorer; (c) prior to any republication, the Author must obtain written approval from GuruExplorer by submitting a request to the designated editorial contact email address provided on the Platform at the time of submission; GuruExplorer will respond to republication requests within 7 business days and approval shall not be unreasonably withheld where the conditions in (a) and (b) are satisfied; (d) approval granted by GuruExplorer via email shall constitute sufficient written consent for the purposes of this clause; and (e) this clause applies to organic editorial contributions only — sponsored articles, advertorial content, and any Editorial Contribution published under a paid or commercial arrangement are expressly excluded from the republication rights granted herein and may not be republished without a separate written agreement between GuruExplorer, the Author, and the relevant advertiser or sponsor.

21.8 Removal Requests. You may request removal of your Editorial Contribution or removal of your name from an Editorial Contribution by writing to support.guru@guruexplorer.co. GuruExplorer will use reasonable efforts to action such requests within 30 business days, but reserves the right to: (a) retain archival copies as required by law or for internal record-keeping; (b) retain anonymised or pseudonymised versions of the Editorial Contribution; and (c) decline removal where the Editorial Contribution forms part of a broader work, news report, historical record, or where removal would not be reasonably practicable. The licence granted in clause 21.2 in respect of any archived, syndicated, or already-published copies survives any such removal. For the avoidance of doubt, sponsored articles and advertorial content published under a paid or commercial arrangement are not eligible for removal requests under this clause and are governed solely by the terms agreed between GuruExplorer and the relevant advertiser or sponsor at the time of publication.

21.9 Payment. Unless GuruExplorer expressly agrees to pay you an honorarium, fee, or other consideration for an Editorial Contribution in writing prior to submission, you acknowledge that your Editorial Contribution is provided on a non-paid basis in exchange for byline attribution, profile exposure, and the other benefits set out in this Section 21.

21.10 AI-Generated and AI-Assisted Content. You must disclose at the time of submission if any material portion of your Editorial Contribution was generated by, or substantially drafted with the assistance of, artificial intelligence tools. AI-assisted editing (such as grammar checks or stylistic refinement) does not require disclosure. Wholly AI-generated Editorial Contributions without meaningful human authorship or expertise will not be accepted.

21.11 Moral Rights. To the extent permitted by applicable law, you waive (or agree not to enforce) any moral rights you may have in the Editorial Contribution to the extent necessary for GuruExplorer to exercise the rights granted under this Section 21, including in respect of editing, repurposing, and republishing in accordance with these Terms.

22. Force Majeure

GuruExplorer shall not be liable for any failure or delay in the performance of its obligations under these Terms where such failure or delay results from events beyond its reasonable control (“Force Majeure Event”).

To the fullest extent permitted by law: (a) the Platform is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis; (b) GuruExplorer disclaims all warranties, whether express, implied, or statutory, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement; and (c) GuruExplorer shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, goodwill, data, or business opportunities, arising out of or in connection with your access to or use of (or inability to access or use) the Platform, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Without limiting the above, to the fullest extent permitted by law, GuruExplorer’s total aggregate liability for all claims arising out of or in connection with these Terms or the Platform shall not exceed the total subscription fees (if any) paid by you to GuruExplorer in the three (3) months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim. You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless GuruExplorer and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in connection with: (i) your use of the Platform; (ii) your breach of these Terms; or (iii) your violation of any applicable law or third-party rights.

24. Time Limit for Claims

You agree that any claim or cause of action arising out of or related to your use of the Platform or these Terms must be filed within one (1) year after such claim or cause of action arose, or it will be permanently barred, regardless of any statute or law to the contrary. This limitation period applies to all claims, whether based in contract, tort, statute, or any other legal theory.

25. Changes to These Terms

We may amend these Terms from time to time by posting an updated version on the Platform (and, where appropriate, by providing additional notice). The updated Terms will apply from the date they are posted, and your continued access to or use of the Platform after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
